StoreDot has revealed a battery that takes less than 30 seconds to charge, The Telegraph reports.
The battery, a product of Tel Aviv University’s nanotechnology department, is made up of crystals consisting of amino acids known as peptides. The batteries will be available commercially late 2016 and are expected to cost around $30.
The company is considering “using its crystals as an alternative to cadmium in screens as well as in memory drives.”
“Batteries are just one of the industries we can distrupt with this new material,” founder of StoreDot Dr. Myersdorf said.
