The Obama administration’s health care website was down for maintenance Monday morning on the last deadline day for new sign-ups, AP reports.
Visitors to HealthCare.gov (https://www.healthcare.gov/) were sometimes directed to a virtual waiting room, which was created to lessen the strain during times when the website is being heavily used.
Aaron Albright, administration spokesman, said the website is maintained during off-peak hours. The Department of Health and Human Services said the problem was “a software bug” unrelated to the number of people applying.
