NEW JERSEY — Police are investigating the motives of Justin Casquejo of Weehawken, N.J., 16, who trespassed in the middle of the night inside One World Trade Center also known as Freedom Tower after getting past security, USA TODAY reports.
Casquejo was arrested at 6 a.m. on Sunday, police said Thursday. Upon arrest, Casquejo had a cellphone and camera on him, which were taken under a search warrant by police for further investigation.
“We take security and these type of infractions extremely seriously and will prosecute violators,” Joseph Dunne, chief security officer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said in a statement. Dunne also said they are continuing to work on the site’s security.
